Double header for Yorkshire in their T20 blast opener at Edgbaston on the 20th of May. Yorkshire take on the Bears with Derbyshire playing Lancashire lightning.

I can't make out which game is on first, but Edgbaston are promising a finals day type atmosphere. I would imagine they would want to be playing second to keep the local fans interested.

I think the odd double header is a good idea in the blast. Let's hope Mr Sunshine is in attendance.

30th looks pretty nailed on for the full fixtures to be released.

I think double headers is very much the way to go. That way they can finish the competition in half the time!
With that on May 20th, it suggests June is going to be my chance to do Greece and / or Croatia again. I want to visit Cragside and Bamburgh Castle when we play Durham, too. And the Beamish Museum.

Fancy them allowing the Racist CCC to play in the opener!

Hope for your sake the Durham game isn't during the school holidays, Bamburgh Castle and surrounding areas were jam packed when were there last August. It's a bit of a destination area now for aspirational parents.

Interesting that Derbyshire have 'sold' one of their home T20 blast games in order to take part in this 'Blast off' event. I'd prefer the home side to play two games if double-headers were to become more common. The scheduling of the women's game may well knock this idea on the head.

So an England X1 are playing the England Lions in Dubai in November, now. Not a sentence we could have imagined writing and reading some time back.
Well there must be golf courses out there as Joe Root is playing. (Indeed sarcasm, only kidding, slightly, Joe) He batted and did not make many. Bigger news is that Matthew F is playing. He sent down 11 overs on Day 1 and then made an unbeaten 18 on Day 2. Of course we want him fit April to Sept. But it is a step in the right direction. Here's hoping, fervently.

Yes, it's not a totally football world out there. Must be a very good batting pitch out there looking at the scores.

Youtube/Freesport/Sky Cricket are showing the Abu Dhabi T10 competition at the moment. Jordan Thompson, Adam Lyth and quite a few ex Yorkshire connections playing. It's a bit frantic but it is chucking it down outside is my excuse.

I have been watching French U16 rugby on YouTube. Fast, frantic, passionate, skilful, mad - and a lot more fun than WC soccer, though I was watching live when Japan scored their winner, which made me smile a little. How odd that Japan should play in blue.
