A lot of negativity to Graves on a Facebook page, County Cricket Matters, regards the perceived accusations against YCCC under him, his involvement in The Hundred and the treatment of Durham CCC under his watch at the ECB. The latter is an accusation that DCCC were harshly treated because he wanted to protect his investment at YCCC re Headingley and international matches.
I heard Dobell mentioning the DCCC claim at a Northern Cricket Society meeting three or four years ago.
Well I suppose some other financially motivated person would have been involved introducing the wretched Hundred.
He also comes over as the bluff, gruff Yorkshireman many people don't like.
I never particularly liked him but recognise that his investment was vital. Of course he may want to come back and try to protect that!
He seems wary about the Rafiq case which is a positive.

I don't mind endorsing the TGT4P party but I reserve the right to jump on any Colin Graves bandwagon if push comes to shove and his money is our last hope.

I like think we all have principles. Most people have a price too. I'm no different to anyone else to save the club.
I would draw the line at sacking people who supported the club and asked for help however. I don't believe the club would have gone under had they've still been employed. That action was that of a weak person under pressure lashing out. I think In fact we would possibly have stayed up and retained at least one of the England players who have left.

Halfway there with Tanni Grey-Thompson appointed as Co-chair in order to help the club to make a smooth transition, or some such, to life after LP.
I applaud the move, although there's an old cynic inside me that's afraid it may be window dressing to get us through a sticky patch.

I have mixed feelings.
Confirmation that the Members forum is due to be livestreamed tomorrow, start time is scheduled for 6pm. Stream will be available through the YCCC website, it says, so I presume it will be open for anybody to log in and take a look, even the Yorkshire Post.
The AGM which is schedule for 6pm on Friday the 24th of March, will also be live-streamed but with a link sent to members, including new members who no longer have to wait 12 months to attend.
I also see the club is advertising for a new 'Head of grounds' I presume Andy Fogarty must be retiring and the clunky job title is meant to cover all genders and non. I hope there is a full season for Andy to handover the reins.

Head of Grounds could mean tending the rose bed in the Garden of Remembrance...or perhaps it's to do with coffee? We could do with some proper coffee, though I don't think I'll be allowed in the Long Room for my £185.
Perhaps the Australian 'curator' would be a suitable non-gender word, if they really do mean 'groundsman'. Can you have a curatrix?. As in dominator, dominatrix? Tricky language, English, and wonderfully non-pc.

I'm not a coffee snob but they only sell instant coffee in the Long Room (or did last time I looked) I understand the proper coffee machine was taken by the players into the YCCC dressing room. I've no way of proving that however

I can think of members' bars where there's a flask of proper coffee always hot and available, and free (with the membership), and replaced every time it is used up. But those places probably don't have a 'sensory room', whatever that is.
I see Alex Davies has received a one match ban for historic tweets, racist homophobic, whilst 17/18yo, and Lancs CCC also formally warned some other of their players for 'discriminatory language' on Twitter. I think the report suggests LCCC are reporting the matters to the ECB.

I see Ajmal S has been giving 'evidence', probably under duress. But it's surprising evidence suggesting that for good reason neither Hoggard nor Rafiq were popular in the dressing room and as a result both were released when under performing. MH is saying that 'his' phrase Rafir the Kafir was not his and was not intended to be racist but simply a rhyme. I had never heard the word before and am not convinced players knew it either. The P word is mentioned again, MH suggesting Pakistani origin players used the word about themselves and white players followed their lead..... A bit like Black Rappers using the N word perhaps............. nobody comes out of that well in my opinion. But was it different to anywhere else??? Of course I don't know. Meanwhile we have the Welsh RU in the spotlight over gender.
