I almost forgot about this. Big hundred from Dawid Malan but not too much else from England in their 50 overs.

Australia well on their way to making the 288 target with absolutely no pressure on them at all.

Sounds like another nail in the coffin of International 50 overs cricket

Easy win for Australia. I don't think the powers that be really wanted these games.

That is, I think reflected in the squad, selections, performances and the fact that it almost crept under the radar.

I've just realised this is extra to our WC qualification, and that we are one of only 2 sides so far that have qualified - or rather India being host are there and then us as no one can get to 125 unless we lose points.

Still to go... (SA the only team so far to forfeit a series)

Well spotted Steve. Gosh what a merry go round. I think I lost concentration and fell off it some while ago.

3 - 0 to Australia. Congratulations.

I think the result of this third ODI was as predictable as was the series 'win' and lack of enthusiasm in the England camp by way of selected squad, teams put out and application.

In fact the last innings by England seemed to show a desire to get on the early bus to catch a flight and go home or at least to something with meaning.

I suppose to the natives, after a sorry exit from the T20 World Cup and a fantastic win for England, it must seem to have some meaning. But it doesn't and Aussie wasn't playing our first team.

I think you know that England were desperate when they opted to open with Malan after an injury to Salt. England going through the motions of fulfilling their obligations with this series. The bits I saw showed a very thin crowd.

I gather that by' getting on with it' i.e. having a ludicrous thrash at everything, the England Team got out quickly and so did not have to hang about waiting for the rain to wash out the fixture.
