They were 3 minutes late coming out to play. Ten years ago I might have quipped ' that's because the ref is putting on her nail varnish.' I wouldn't dare nowadays.
You can still think it though, thank heavens. Thought police scrolling through your actual memory, rather than your social media memory, is hopefully several generations away yet.
So I went to see Bradford City v Mansfield Town last Saturday as I helped with a pre-match collection. Great view from the main stand and also of the valley opposite. The special school I worked at moved to a large comprehensive in 2010 and I could see the ground from my new classroom window. Ha, I spotted it from my seat. Weird. A couple of my former pupils were sat with me and we laughed that we could see our old classroom.
Both teams tried to play proper football and it was a good match. I wonder if all these Premier League clubs buying up foreign talent means better British players are now operating lower down the leagues.

The current business model of some Premier league clubs, and I'm afraid I have to place Leeds United in this category, is more akin to a second hand car dealership than a football club.
Buy them in, polish them up, and hope to sell them on at a huge mark up.

I called into Kidderminster last Saturday, just for the second half against Scarborough .First two gate attendants assured me there was no way I could get in the ground without an on line ticket. I got in. Good win for Scarborough
Having a couple of days up north on Friday/Saturday. Hotel in Lytham St Annes and then Morecambe v Forest Green. Taking Mrs B so doing the corporate hospitality, which is still cheaper than an average seat at Arsenal/Spurs etc.

i think I would prefer watching Man City at Forest Green than if the Baggies go up again.
I also think it would be nice if half of the premier league clubs just buggered off and played amongst themselves on a man made island in the Pacific. Leave the proper football clubs to get on with things and enjoy proper competition.
